CME announced that its lithium spodumene CIF china Fastmarkets futures are now listed on the New York Commodity Exchange and available for trading. The total number of contracts traded on the first day was 29, with participants including Zhejiang Jinan物產, Mitsubishi Corporation RTM International Pte Ltd, Wogen Resources Limited, and Woori物產 (Singapore). The first transaction was executed by Freight Investor Services Ltd.

Jin Hennig, Managing Director and Global Metal Products Head of CME, stated that the product provides additional hedging tools for price risks in the lithium value chain, and will continue to focus on meeting the risk management needs of the battery metal industry.
