"Harris trades" should be conducted how?

In the past few days, the market has seen a decrease in the probability of Trump winning.

Goldman Sachs trader Andrey Alipov believes that the most profitable trades currently are to go long on wind power and Asian stocks - previously the market went crazy for Donald Trump trades, but if Harris stages a comeback, these two types of stocks have a significant rebound space.

Alipov stated that due to the current market's low pricing for a 'Democratic victory, divided government,' sectors benefiting from a Harris win in the US stocks are worth attention, including wind power, companies facing tariff risks, and medical care. These sectors were previously priced for a Trump win, resulting in an excessive decline situation.

Currently, Polymarket prices Trump's chances of being elected president at around 66% (this does not mean that Trump leads by 66% in polls, but rather indicates that participants in election betting expect Trump to win 66 out of 100 simulated elections), while models based on polls show that the probability of both candidates winning is almost the same.

Moreover, historically, once the election results are confirmed, regardless of the winning party, the S&P 500 index typically rises by 4-5% in November and December.

Therefore, Alipov suggests that even for the purpose of diversifying the holding stocks that may rebound in the medium to long term, increasing "Harris trades" makes sense.

However, Alipov warned that the US stock market may continue to fluctuate for one to two weeks after November 6, as swing states such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, may likely recount votes.
