Hyundai and Kia announced on Monday that total sales of both companies in the United States in October increased by 17.4% compared to the same period last year, due to increased demand for hybrid models.
The total sales of the two companies last month in the USA were 147,613 vehicles, setting a new historical record for the same month.
Including the Genesis brand, Hyundai's sales reached 787.05 million units, an 18.3% increase. Kia's sales were 68,908 vehicles, up 16.5%.
The sales of eco-friendly concept vehicles for both companies were 31,668 vehicles, a 52% year-on-year increase. Hybrid vehicles led the way with a 64.9% increase, reaching 21,679 vehicles, setting a new monthly record.
