Gelonghui November 4th | American financial technology company Affirm announced the launch of 'Buy Now, Pay Later' (BNPL) services in the United Kingdom, marking Affirm's first foray into markets outside of North America. It is reported that British legislators are considering new regulations to align BNPL companies with other traditional consumer credit services, but these regulations are not expected to take effect until at least 2026. This period is enough for Affirm to gain the attention and favor of consumers and regulatory institutions. Affirm was selected by Amazon last year as the first BNPL partner for Amazon Pay in the United States and recently reached a partnership agreement with Apple.
