Unicharm Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President, and Executive Officer: Gokyu Takahara) held the 5th "GHG Emissions Visualization Information Exchange Meeting" on October 28, 2024, and would like to inform you of it.

Based on the theme 'Decarbonization is difficult to achieve significant results by oneself,' we believe it is necessary to expand efforts not only in the daily necessities industry but also throughout the industrial sector. With this in mind, we have been holding meetings for the exchange of opinions on GHG emissions visualization since May 2023.

For this 5th meeting, we conducted discussions on primary data such as raw materials and materials, progress reports on distribution verification, reports on the joint announcement held on September 27, 2024, and discussions on future efforts based on primary data distribution verification and joint announcements.

*Primary Data: Data collected by the entity responsible for calculation, including self-measured data collected by the company (e.g., electricity consumption for in-house product manufacturing) and interviews with external stakeholders (e.g., direct assessment of related emissions from business partners).

Future initiatives

The 6th information exchange meeting is scheduled to be held in the latter half of January 2025.

We plan to consider initiatives for the following fiscal year after the completion of the primary data distribution verification.
