The U.S. non-farm payroll employment saw a significant cooling.
In October, non-farm payrolls in the United States increased by 0.012 million, lower than the estimated increase of 0.113 million; the previous value was an increase of 0.254 million, revised down to 0.223 million. The total number of non-farm payrolls for August was revised down from an increase of 0.159 million to a decrease of 0.081 million, to 0.078 million. After these revisions, the combined employment numbers for August and September were 0.112 million fewer than previously reported. Interest rate futures indicate an increased likelihood of a 25 basis point rate cut by the Federal Reserve in November, December, and 2025.
