Add Low-E clear (high solar heat gain specification) to triple glass and laminated glass of high-performance window "TW" and resin window "EW", and release.
Choose windows with high insulation and high solar gain from a wide range of options.
Contribute to a rich and comfortable living environment and reduce environmental impact for residents.
LIXIL Corporation (hereinafter LIXIL) will add Low-E Clear (high solar heat gain specification) to the triple glass and laminated glass of the high-performance window "TW" and resin window "EW", and will launch it nationwide from November 1, 2024.
LIXIL's window and door brand TOSTEM has started proposing the "GREEN WINDOW", which is a general term for windows that are optimal for the region to achieve a rich and comfortable living environment and reduce environmental impact, since November last year.
In order to ensure the comfort of the house, it is more important to control the heat entering and exiting from the windows. "GREEN WINDOW" recommends increasing the area of south-facing windows from 10m² to 20m² to obtain the heat equivalent to three electric stoves, which enhances the comfort of the house and is also very important from an energy-saving perspective.
Therefore, LIXIL will add Low-E Clear (high solar heat gain specification) to the triple glass and laminated glass of high-performance window "TW" and resin window "EW", and will launch it nationwide from November 1, 2024 as the flagship of the "GREEN WINDOW".
In the high-performance window "TW", industry-leading insulation performance (heat transfer coefficient 0.98 (W/(m²·K)) while having a larger glass area with a slimmer frame than resin windows, and with the adoption of the high solar heat gain specification glass, the solar heat gain ratio of the laminated glass specification is 0.54, achieving an industry-leading solar heat gain ratio.
In the resin window "EW", you can choose high solar heat gain specification glass while providing industry-leading insulation performance (heat transfer coefficient 0.79 (W/(m²·K)), enabling the provision of warmer and more comfortable spaces by utilizing solar heat even in severe cold areas during the winter.
By adding high solar heat gain glass in both triple and laminated glass to the lineup of high-performance window "TW" and resin window "EW", you can choose the optimal windows tailored to the climate characteristics of the region from a wider range of options, contributing to the comfort of residents and reducing environmental impact.
LIXIL will continue to promote the 'GREEN WINDOW' initiative through the window and door brand TOSTEM, contributing to creating a rich and comfortable living environment for people and society as a whole.
*1 In Tokyo, the average daytime solar heat gain on the south side vertical window in January is approximately 600W/m². When the window is Thermo SⅡ-H single sliding window with Low-E transparent double-layer glass (clear), the solar heat gain coefficient is 46-47% as estimated.
*2 Internal test values based on representative test bodies according to JIS A 4710. The representative test bodies are based on the criteria for defining the range of evaluation products deemed to have performance equivalent to the test bodies on the website of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. For details, please check the business page on our official website.

* High-performance window 'TW' solar heat gain coefficient
※Including the frame, the solar heat gain coefficient of the openable area.
※Triple glass: 3-kr10-1.3-kr10-3, laminated glass: 3-Ar16-3 performance values
※This value is based on the evaluation of energy consumption performance complying with the 2016 energy saving standards on the National Institute of Architecture's website, under the 'Vertical surface solar heat gain coefficient of openings'.
※The solar heat gain coefficient of the openings is the value obtained by multiplying the glass solar heat gain coefficient by a factor of 0.80.
・Resin window 'EW' solar heat gain coefficient
※Including the frame, the solar heat gain coefficient of the openable area
※Triple glass: 3-kr13-1.3-kr13-3, laminated glass: 3-Ar16-3 performance values.
※Based on the "Evaluation of energy consumption performance compliant with the 2016 Energy Saving Standards" on the National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management website, it is the value of the vertical surface solar heat gain coefficient of the opening based on the 2016 Energy Saving Standards.
※The solar heat gain coefficient of the opening is the value obtained by multiplying the solar gain coefficient of the glass by 0.72.
