The channel "R Channel" will open the "TOKYO MX Channel", which will be the first channel of an independent station to broadcast simultaneously on a nationwide distribution platform.

Rakuten Group Inc. operates a free linear video distribution service called "R Channel", which has established a specialty channel named "TOKYO MX Channel" that simulcasts to a nationwide distribution platform for the first time as an independent station (Note 1).
"R Channel" is a linear video distribution service where a wide range of genres such as anime, movies, dramas, news, sports, entertainment, hobbies, kids programs, etc., can be watched 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for free. It is Japan's largest linear video distribution service, broadcasting across 49 channels (Note 2), and rewards viewers with 1 point of Rakuten Points per hour watched, as well as points based on monthly total viewing time rankings (Note 3).
The newly launched "TOKYO MX Channel" by Tokyo Metropolitan Television Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "TOKYO MX"), now broadcasts programs such as "5-jin ni Muchuu!", the new shows "Oharina!" and "Hori Jun Live Junction", as well as an anime featuring Rakuten's official character "Okaimono Panda" starting television broadcasts on November 6 (Wed) at 21:54. They will continue to add more programs like anime and variety shows in the future.
This channel will simulcast with original programming for the 'R Channel,' which is provided 24 hours a day. Viewers can watch live broadcasts of 'Dreaming at 5!' and weekday morning and evening news and information programs (Note 5). It is the first time that an independent station will simulcast on a nationwide distribution platform.
To coincide with the start of this distribution, we will be running the 'TOKYO MX Channel Open Memorial' campaign from today until November 29 (Friday). In addition, we have started offering a new advertising menu where companies can place ads on both TOKYO MX's spot CM slots and 'R Channel's' CM slots, which were jointly developed by both companies.
'R Channel' will continue to enhance the provision of attractive and new entertainment experiences and improve service convenience, aiming to provide highly satisfactory services to a wide range of users.

It can be viewed for free on smart phone apps, web browsers, and selected TV models. Additionally, you can earn 'Rakuten Points' based on viewing time, and it also supports on-demand streaming. For advertisers, the service offers 'R Channel Ads' to deliver ads to target users in 'R Channel'.
