Maxell <6810> announced on the 29th that the ceramic package type solid state battery "PSB401010H" has been adopted as a backup battery for real-time clock (RTC) in the intelligent image recognition unit "iXAM Vision Engine" (iXAM-VE120A-DIO) developed by its subsidiary Maxell Frontier.
Both companies have been cooperating in the development of solid state batteries, but the adoption for the RTC backup power of "PSB401010H" is the first time. "iXAM Vision Engine" is an edge AI-compatible intelligent image recognition unit suitable for integration into automated production lines and devices. "PSB401010H" can be used even in high-temperature environments, and its surface mounting through reflow allows for high-density installation, contributing to space savings and streamlining manufacturing processes. Leveraging the high heat resistance characteristic of solid state batteries improves user convenience.
The company will continue to utilize analog core technology to develop high-performance and highly reliable solid state batteries in four axes: long life, high heat resistance, high output, and high capacity, which can be used in applications where existing batteries were not usable.
