The "Global Entertainment and Media Industry Outlook 2024-2028" by PwC indicates that the revenue of the entertainment and media industry in Hong Kong grew by 4.5% last year, with the market size expected to slow to 2.3% in 2024, reaching 12.87 billion USD. The compound annual growth rate from 2024 to 2028 is estimated at 2.06%, with revenue projected to reach 14 billion USD in 2028.

In the OTT market, Hong Kong has experienced rapid growth over the past two years, reaching 0.371 billion USD in 2023. The market is expected to continue expanding with a compound annual growth rate of 5.7%, reaching 0.491 billion USD by 2028. Subscription streaming services accounted for nearly 84% of Hong Kong's total OTT revenue in 2023, with the potential to increase to over 85% by 2028.

Hong Kong's business-to-business market (including trade shows, trade magazines, and business information) became the fastest-growing market globally in 2023, surging by 21.4% annually to reach 0.814 billion USD. The compound annual growth rate from 2023 to 2028 is projected to be 3.55%, primarily driven by trade shows, surpassing the global average of 1.86%. The trade show market in Hong Kong grew rapidly by 45.9% in 2023, reaching 0.447 billion USD, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 5.5% to reach 0.585 billion USD by 2028.

Furthermore, the live music market in Hong Kong has rebounded, with revenue expected to reach 0.201 billion USD in 2024, significantly higher than the pre-pandemic revenue of 0.121 billion USD in 2019.
