Geely (00175.HK)'s new energy electric pickup truck brand radar held a product launch event in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday (29th). This radar electric pickup truck was launched in Thailand, not only the first pure electric pickup truck from the mainland to enter Thailand, but also the first pure electric pickup truck in the Thai market. Geely Radar has successfully expanded into multiple overseas markets including Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central and South Americas since last July.
In recent years, the Thai government has been promoting the electrification of automobiles, aiming to increase the local electric vehicle production to 30% of the total automobile output by 2030. Pickup trucks are one of the most popular vehicle types in the Thai market. According to data released by the Thai Chamber of Commerce, in the first nine months of this year, the total sales of domestic automobiles in Thailand reached 438,600 vehicles, with pickup truck sales accounting for 126,500 vehicles, nearly one-third of the total domestic automobile sales in the area.
