Sagawa Global Logistics Co., Ltd., which operates logistics business in SG Holdings Group, held the 12th Forklift Contest on October 17 (Thu) with the participation of our company and group employees.

Practical examination situation (cargo handling operation)

In order to improve the safety awareness, driving skills, and inspection techniques of forklift operators, we have been holding a forklift driving skills contest to enhance the technical capabilities of forklift operators and to prevent reckless driving. In addition, we dispatch our employees to group companies as instructors to conduct skills training.
In this 12th edition of the competition, a total of 18 forklift operators, consisting of 16 selected from 9 areas nationwide and 2 from group companies, participated. They competed based on our unique safety standards, showcasing the level of specialized knowledge in forklift driving, as well as performing safe and high-quality operations developed through daily work tasks.
As a new attempt this year, the assessment criteria of the practical examination included the loading and unloading of cargo using the cargo elevator, aiming to simulate a more realistic work environment.
As a company responsible for the social infrastructure of logistics, we will continue to prioritize 'safety' and 'quality' as the top priorities, aiming to improve the awareness of safety and quality for all employees, including the training of forklift operators.

- Event details:

① Academic exam... Conduct a written exam that asks about relevant laws, the structure and handling methods of devices related to driving, the structure and handling methods of devices related to cargo handling, and the mechanics necessary for driving.
② Practical exam... Two events are held: the "pre-shift check event" where participants compete to efficiently and accurately carry out inspection and maintenance within a time limit, and demonstrate the ability to identify defects, and the "cargo handling event" where participants compete in adhering to safety driving guidelines and handling high-quality cargo loading.
