xAI寻求估值400亿美元,马斯克警惕AI变坏、预言15年后机器人数量超人类

xAI seeks a valuation of $40 billion, Musk warns of AI turning bad, predicting that the number of robots will surpass humans in 15 years.

Elon Musk plans to double the xAI scale to have 0.2 million Nvidia H100 and H200 chips, insiders revealed that the company is discussing new financing, seeking a valuation of 40 billion US dollars. He expects Cybercab to be mass-produced in 2026, believing that the United States will deploy driverless supervised autonomous driving technology as early as next year, and will be able to launch a spaceship to Mars within two years. AI progresses tenfold every year and will be able to do anything a human can do within a year or two. He also encourages reproduction, otherwise humanity faces an existential crisis.

On Tuesday, October 29, Tesla CEO Musk participated in the 8th Saudi Future Investment Initiative (FII), known as the 'Desert Davos,' through a remote connection, discussing AI, robots, and self-driving cars.

It is worth noting that aside from consistently praising the advantages of technological progress, he also warned people to pay attention to the potential risks of artificial intelligence, mentioning that by the end of the current decade (close to 2030), there is a '10% to 20% probability' that AI may become harmful.

By 0.2 million Nvidia H100 and H200 chips, there will be discussions on new financing with an estimated valuation of 40 billion USD, potentially doubling the scale of xAI.

However, Musk seems more like criticizing AI models trained by other Silicon Valley individuals with different political stances, which he refers to as having an 'awake, nihilistic philosophy from surrounding trainers.'

He believes that these AI models are often trained to be politically correct and in some cases can say some 'very unsettling crazy things.' For example, some AI models have given answers suggesting that gender discrimination in a US reality star is more dangerous than nuclear war.

In contrast, Musk believes that AI should 'maximally seek truth,' as the input of philosophically incorrect AI weakens its ability to seek truth. He mentioned that he established xAI a year and a half ago to ensure that AI technology serves the greatest interests of humanity, with plans to double the scale of his AI startup company xAI.

On Monday, he posted on social media that xAI will soon have a super training cluster encompassing 0.2 million Nvidia H100 and H200 GPU chips. This cluster, named Colossus, already has over 0.1 million Nvidia H100 GPUs, once acclaimed by Nvidia as 'the world's largest GPU supercomputer launched in a record short time.'

According to sources exclusively cited by The Wall Street Journal, xAI is in discussions for a new round of 'tens of billions of dollars' financing, targeting a valuation of 40 billion dollars. In spring of this year, the company just completed a 6 billion dollars financing with a valuation of 24 billion dollars.

Of course, Musk eventually reiterated that 'artificial intelligence is more likely to become great,' declaring:

"AI is progressing tenfold every year. I believe it can do anything humans can possibly do, maybe within a year or two. In the following three years, AI can accomplish everything the entire human race can do.

As early as March this year, Musk boldly predicted that artificial intelligence 'will grow at a rate of 100 times each year,' so by 2030, AI's abilities may be as powerful as '8 billion humans.'

When asked about the development speed of artificial intelligence today, Musk changed his tune to say, 'It can be confidently said that AI progresses tenfold every year, meaning in four years it will have progressed 0.01 million times.' Thus, in the conversation, he emphasized the number '0.01 million times.'

Fifteen years from now, the number of robots will surpass the total human population. Bearing children will be crucial for the survival of humanity, as next year the USA will see the rise or upgrade of self-driving cars.

He also predicted that by 2040, at least 10 billion humanoid robots will be put into operation, with each robot priced between 0.02 million and 0.025 million dollars. In other words, Musk believes that in about fifteen years, the number of robots will surpass the entire human population.

He said that this shift could significantly change the dynamics of the workforce, highlighting the importance of addressing potential challenges related to AI technology. This further leads to the importance of "birth rates for maintaining society", as the slowdown in population growth is a key long-term issue:

"If we do not give birth to new humans, there will be no future for humans, and all policies in the world will not change this. I have many children and also encourage others to have more children."

In low birth rate regions like South Korea and the European Union, the population size will shrink rapidly. In some places, in just three generations, the national size will shrink to only 5% of the current, which is a very serious problem.

In terms of autonomous driving, Musk believes the United States will be able to deploy "driverless autonomous driving" as early as 2025 to highlight the rapid progress in this field. He asserts that all cars will eventually achieve autonomous driving, which will be ten times safer than human drivers. He also specifically mentioned that Tesla's robot taxi Cybercab is expected to go into mass production in 2026.

Other topics he discussed include:

Expressing enthusiasm for space exploration, he stated: "I believe we can launch Starship to Mars within two years."

Regarding energy, Musk believes that almost all long-term energy will come from solar energy.

He also emphasized the role of countries in developing their own artificial intelligence clusters to enhance global innovation, expecting in the future that 'every country will have artificial intelligence or multiple artificial intelligence.'

When discussing the upcoming U.S. presidential election next week, he stated, 'If Trump returns to the White House, I will feel more optimistic,' citing 'the biggest obstacle to progress we have experienced is excessive regulation, such as taking longer to obtain a launch permit than to build a giant rocket.'

Musk also candidly admitted that he 'played an important role in this election' with over 0.2 billion followers on social media X. Earlier that same day, according to CCTV News, U.S. President Biden stated that Musk proposing to randomly distribute 1 million dollars to swing state voters daily through his Super Political Action Committee was 'completely inappropriate.'

Following Musk's public speech at the Saudi summit on Tuesday, Tesla's stock opened low and continued to decline, dropping by 2.7% after noon trading and hitting a one-year low for two consecutive days.
