Wise News APP reports, Sang Hing Holdings (01472) announced that on October 21, 2024, there was a video media report about a 24-year-old worker missing during work at the Tuen Mun District 38 landfill. The Board of Directors learned that while the news anchor was reporting the incident, the report included the logos of "Tuen Mun District 38 Temporary Construction Waste Screening Facility", "Tuen Mun 38 Screening", and "Tuen Mun - Sang Hing Joint Venture" ("Joint Venture"), and also learned that another news platform's report on the incident mentioned the name of the joint venture within the text.

The company hereby issues the following statement and clarification:

1. District 38 is divided into two separate zones, namely the landfill and the screening and classification facility;

2. The Joint Venture was contracted to carry out engineering works at the screening and classification facility in District 38 under contracts granted by the Civil Engineering and Development Department;

3. The Joint Venture is not involved in or responsible for any works around the landfill, as its obligations are strictly limited to the works within the screening and classification facility in District 38;

4. The unfortunate incident occurred at the landfill in District 38, which is at all critical times occupied by an entity completely unrelated to the Joint Venture or the company, and the incident never took place within the operations of the Joint Venture or at the engineering site where it fulfills its contracts in the screening and classification facility.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government further confirmed in a news report on October 21, 2024, that the incident occurred at Landfill Site 38; and

The company has engaged legal advisors to provide advice on the above matters, and has issued a lawyer's letter to relevant news platforms, requesting the immediate removal of the report from all platforms.

The board of directors is currently assessing the impact of the report and will continue to take all reasonable actions to protect the group's reputation. If necessary, the company may consider taking legal action against all relevant parties to protect the interests of the group.
