HSBC Hong Kong Chief Executive Officer Diana Cesar attended the "Hong Kong Fintech Week 2024" and stated that the bank welcomes the government's policy declaration on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the financial market, allowing financial institutions to promote the appropriate application of AI under the premise of managing relevant risks through a dual-track model.

The bank has over 1,000 use cases of artificial intelligence in areas such as fraud detection, back-office automation, trade monitoring, customer service, and risk assessment. For example, using AI to detect signs of financial crimes in 1.3 billion transactions globally each month. As for generative AI, HSBC is experimenting with around 100 different solutions.

She believes that in the future development of technology and artificial intelligence, banks and financial technology companies will have more collaboration rather than competition.
