Today's growth market saw the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market Index and the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market 250 Index both decline for the 4th consecutive day. The number of gainers was 92, the number of decliners was 466, and unchanged was 28.
The U.S. stock market on the 24th was mixed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 42,374.36, down 140.59 points, while the Nasdaq closed at 18,415.49, up 138.83 points. Due to lower-than-expected initial jobless claims and easing concerns about the labor market, trading was strong after opening. The Nasdaq remained strong all day, boosted by the rise of electric car maker Tesla, while the decline in long-term interest rates also supported the market, leading to an expansion of gains towards the end. The Dow turned down due to profit-taking pressure, leading to a soft tone and a mixed close.
Both the Growth Market Index and the Growth Market 250 Index started trading at the previous day's closing level, then slowly widened their decline. Although trading volume in the Growth Market soared to 0.27 billion shares, the trading value has not reached 100 billion yen due to increased interest in low-priced stocks of around 100 yen, making it difficult to attract attention to leading stocks.
In individual stocks, Cyber Buzz <7069>, which was bought yesterday, was sold. Among the top market capitalization stocks, GENDA <9166>, which had relatively good price performance, continued to decline steadily, along with Safe <4375>, BASE <4477>, and GMO Financial Gate <4051> being sold. Leading the decline were Grid <5582>, Conva <6574>, and Oxide <6521>.
On the other hand, ultra-low-priced stocks such as Modalis <4883>, Jelly Beans Group <3070>, and Soleia Pharma <4597> were bought, while Trit <9164> and Timey <215A> performed steadily among the top market capitalization stocks. Leading the gainers were Base Food <2936>, Material Group <156A>, and Dream Vision <3185>.
Stocks included in the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market Core Index were sold, including GENDA, Safe, BASE, GMO Financial Gate, as well as Sea You Sea <9158>, Adventure <6030>, and others.
Today, Rigaku Holdings <268A>, listed on the main board market, opened at 1205 yen, 4.4% lower than the offering price.
