1. Wus Printed Circuit plans to invest 4.3 billion yuan in a new artificial intelligence chip supporting high-end printed circuit board expansion project, with funds coming from the company's own resources or self-raised; 2. Benefiting from the structural demand for printed circuit boards in high-speed computing servers, artificial intelligence, and other emerging computing scenarios, the company's revenue and net income for 2024 Q3 have both increased compared to the same period last year.
Financial Association News, October 24th (Reporter Lu Tingting) The AI boom has driven the continuous rise in demand for high-end PCBs, attracting many industry manufacturers to compete. Wus Printed Circuit (002463.SZ) announced this evening that it plans to invest 4.3 billion yuan in the construction of an AI chip supporting high-end PCB expansion project, with funding coming from the company's own resources or self-raised.
According to the announcement, Wus Printed Circuit plans to adjust the research and manufacturing project of high-layer high-density interconnection multilayer boards for semiconductor chip testing and next-generation high-frequency and high-speed communication field to a new artificial intelligence chip supporting high-end printed circuit board expansion project, producing high-layer high-density interconnection multilayer boards to meet the mid- to long-term demand for high-end printed circuit boards in high-speed computing servers, artificial intelligence, and other emerging computing scenarios.
The total investment amount for the project is estimated to be about 4.3 billion yuan, to be implemented in two phases, with a total construction period of 8 years, where the first phase is expected to be completed before 2028; the second phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2032. After the full completion of the project, the estimated additional annual revenue is approximately 4.8 billion yuan.
Regarding Wus Printed Circuit's statement, this project is in line with relevant national industrial policies and industry development trends, expected to further expand the company's high-end product capacity, optimize product structure, and strengthen the company's core competitiveness. However, the project also faces potential risks such as funding guarantees, policy adjustments, and changes in the market environment.
Industry insiders previously told Financial Association reporters that the development of AI technology has driven the demand for high-performance computing chips, directly boosting the growth of the PCB industry scale.
The expert further illustrated that due to the need for AI servers to process large amounts of data and complex calculations, there is a significant increase in the performance requirements for PCBs, driving the rapid growth of segmented categories such as high-density interconnect boards and multilayer PCBs. Looking ahead, the PCB market for servers is expected to continue to maintain a high growth rate.
It is noteworthy that Wus Printed Circuit has already reaped the benefits of AI. The company's latest disclosed third-quarter report for 2024 shows revenues and net profits of 3.587 billion yuan and 0.708 billion yuan respectively, with year-on-year growth of 54.67% and 53.66%. For the first three quarters, the company achieved revenues of 9.011 billion yuan and net profits of 1.848 billion yuan, with year-on-year growth of 48.15% and 93.94%.
Regarding the performance changes, Wus Printed Circuit previously stated in its performance forecast that it has benefited from the structural demand for printed circuit boards in emerging computing scenarios such as high-speed computing servers and ai.
