The datacenter newly built by india's second largest conglomerate, Reliance Group, will use nvidia's Blackwell chip. Other technology companies like Tech Mahindra will also utilize nvidia's technology. Nvidia has also introduced a lightweight AI model for the indian market, for local enterprises to develop their own AI models.

$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ Speeding into the India market at full throttle, not only cooperating with multiple technology giants in India, but also launching a lightweight AI large model tailored for the local market.

On October 24th local time, Nvidia's founder and CEO, Huang Renxun, announced at the Indian AI Summit that the company has partnered with India's second largest conglomerate, Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries, to jointly establish AI infrastructure in India.

Huang Renxun stated that the large data center newly built by Reliance Industries in India will use Nvidia's upcoming next-generation flagship GPU chip, Blackwell. According to Ambani, the data center will be built in Jamnagar, the fifth largest city in the state of Gujarat, with a capacity of 1 gigawatt.

"In India, Nvidia is India's AI," Huang Renxun said at the summit, "We are introducing a new small language model Nemotron-4-Mini-Hindi-4B in India, with 4 billion parameters, for enterprises to develop their own AI models."

According to Huang Renxun, the Indian software company Tech Mahindra will also adopt Nvidia's chips and software to develop a Hindi AI model named "Indus2.0".

In addition, Nvidia will collaborate with the e-commerce company Flipkart to develop its conversational customer service system, while software provider Zoho will also use Nvidia's technology in its projects to create a Hindi AI model.

Previously, Nvidia had established partnerships with the well-known Indian IT company Infosys and Tata Consulting Services.

Huang Renxun repeatedly expressed bullish views on the AI market in India at the meeting:

India used to be a software exporting country. In the future, India will become an AI exporting country.

Huang Renxun predicts that by the end of 2024, India's computing power will increase by nearly 20 times, "NVIDIA's ecosystem in India is very rich".

NVIDIA started its layout in Bengaluru in southern India twenty years ago, and also established development centers in three other cities, with a total of about 4,000 engineers.

In September last year, NVIDIA reached preliminary agreements with Infosys, Tata Group, and other companies to establish artificial intelligence datacenters, and pledged to train AI models in local Indian languages. In August this year, Ambani mentioned the term AI at least 80 times at the Infosys industrial shareholder meeting, announcing that the company is developing an artificial intelligence tool and application called JioBrain.

AI technology in India is still in its early stages. Currently, the Indian government has allocated $1.2 billion under the "India AI Plan" for constructing datacenters.

At the meeting, Huang Renxun emphasized again that the company's AI chip GB200 based on the Blackwell architecture will be mass-produced in the fourth quarter. Furthermore, Huang Renxun stated:

In the long run, I hope that each of us will have our own AI assistant.

When talking about concerns about AI taking over human jobs, Huang Renxun insists that artificial intelligence will not completely replace humans, but it will fundamentally change the way work operates.

AI will absolutely not take away human jobs, but those who use artificial intelligence to do their work better will have more job opportunities.
