The major strike initiated by American workers at Boeing (BA.US) has severely impacted the financial situation of its suppliers, with Spirit AeroSystems suffering further losses, currently depleting its cash reserves.

According to the report from the Futu Securities App, the major strike caused by American workers at Boeing (BA.US) has dealt a severe blow to its suppliers' financial condition. Key supplier Spirit AeroSystems (SPR.US) released third-quarter financial data on Wednesday, showing a deepening loss and continuous depletion of cash reserves. The data indicates that Spirit AeroSystems' third-quarter revenue was $1.471 billion, falling short of market expectations, with an adjusted loss per share of $3.03, also below market expectations. Following the performance announcement, Spirit's stock dropped 4% in after-hours trading.

In the financial report, Spirit stated that it has utilized all of the $0.35 billion bridge loan established when Boeing agreed to acquire the supplier in June, confirming earlier reports from foreign media.

The supplier mentioned that based on the memorandum of understanding signed in April, it has not received the $0.425 billion cash advance from Boeing, resulting in reserves of only $0.218 billion at the end of the third quarter after obtaining the loan.

Boeing has not immediately responded to requests for comments on the advance cash issue. Earlier on Wednesday, Boeing's CEO, Kelly Ortberg, stated during the earnings conference call that the acquisition and integration plan for Spirit 'remains unchanged'.

Spirit, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, announced this month that due to Boeing's five-week strike depleting the supplier's cash and inventory space, the company will implement a 21-day leave for 700 employees.

Boeing's suppliers have invested heavily in materials and molds to support Boeing's plan to increase aircraft production. Due to the strike, these suppliers have been placing workers on leave and delaying investments over the past few weeks.

Spirit AeroSystems has announced that its vacation will take effect from October 28th, and warned that if Boeing's strike continues, it may result in layoffs and additional time off.

Due to the growth in production performance, labor, and supply chain costs, Spirit reported a net forward loss of $0.217 billion in the third quarter, compared to $0.101 billion in the same period last year, mainly due to $0.109 billion loss from the Boeing 787 and $64 million loss from the Airbus A220 projects.

Boeing agreed in July to a $4.7 billion share buyback of Spirit AeroSystems, which was spun off in 2005, while Airbus began taking over the struggling Europe business of this supplier. Spirit reiterated on Wednesday that Boeing's acquisition is still expected to be completed as planned by mid-2025.

Spirit reported that as of the end of the third quarter, the company's backlog of orders is $48 billion, including orders for aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus.
