Recently, the first domestic full solid-state lithium battery production line officially started production, marking a new stage of mass production of the pure lithium 50 ampere-hour full solid-state battery developed and produced by the company; Currently, the target production capacity of the full lithium new energy production line is 200 megawatt-hours, equivalent to simultaneously charging 0.2 million motorcycles, and after reaching full production, it can produce thousands of solid-state lithium batteries per day.
On October 24, Cailian News reported that the first domestic full solid-state lithium battery production line was officially put into operation in Beijing Yizhuang recently.
Recently, the first domestic full solid-state lithium battery production line was officially put into operation. This production line was invested and built by Beijing Pure Lithium New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a Beijing Yizhuang enterprise in Beijing Economic Technological Development Zone, marking a new stage of mass production for the pure lithium 50 ampere-hour full solid-state battery developed and produced by the company.
What are the innovative breakthroughs of solid-state lithium batteries? What significance does achieving mass production of solid-state lithium batteries have for the development of the new energy fund? Zhou Linlu, Deputy General Manager of Pure Lithium New Energy, said: 'To address energy storage security challenges, we independently developed full solid-state lithium batteries, mainly by changing the liquid electrolyte inside lithium batteries to solid-state electrolytes, solving the difficult problem of potential risks of flammability and explosion in traditional lithium batteries. They have the advantages of safety, high efficiency, long life, and low cost, and can be applied in energy storage, motorcycle battery, and other fields.'
Among them, the solid-state cell is a major core breakthrough for Pure Lithium New Energy. The cell of traditional lithium batteries is composed of positive and negative electrodes, electrolytes, and separators. By developing a new material called organic-inorganic hybrid solid-state electrolyte, Pure Lithium New Energy has developed solid-state cells that fundamentally replace flammable media such as electrolytes and separators, and can be safely used at temperatures close to 100 degrees Celsius without combustion at 300 degrees Celsius, certified by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS).
In the process of advancing innovative achievements from the laboratory to industrialization, Pure Lithium New Energy first completed small-scale trial production in Beijing Yizhuang. Zhou Linlu said: 'By creating a small trial production line and gradually debugging, we have broken through the production process of solid-state cells, solved industry technical problems such as large-scale preparation of solid-state electrolytes and stable interface contact between solid-state electrolytes and electrodes, reduced costs, and enabled products to be mass-produced.' After further scaling up and implementation, Pure Lithium New Energy finally achieved mass production of self-developed products. Currently, the target production capacity of Pure Lithium New Energy's production line is 200 megawatt-hours, equivalent to simultaneously charging 0.2 million motorcycles, and after reaching full production, it can produce thousands of solid-state lithium batteries per day.
'The completion of mass production is a milestone event for the company and a major breakthrough for the entire industry, because new technologies and products can only have an impact in economic life when they truly achieve large-scale mass production. Our vision is to enable everyone to use safe lithium batteries,' Zhou Linlu said. 'During the mass production process, Beijing Yizhuang is our strong support. Not only does it have a good industrial ecosystem, but it also has complete industrial policies and services. Many times we contact the industrial bureau whenever we have issues, and they are often able to quickly help coordinate and resolve them.'
With the mass production launch of full solid-state batteries, Pure Lithium New Energy will also face new commercial challenges. Zhou Linlu said: 'Developing new quality productivity, solid-state batteries are one of the important development directions for the next generation of energy storage technology. We will continue to increase innovation efforts, accelerate cooperation with industry-leading companies in energy storage, low-speed power, and other application areas, realize the landing of demonstration projects, and promote more extensive adoption.'
