According to federal documents reported by Caixin on October 22nd (edited by Zhou Ziyi), USA Democratic candidate Kamala Harris raised nearly 1 billion dollars in the past three months, surpassing her opponent Donald Trump in the fundraising race, preparing for the final stage of the presidential election.

According to media analysis of the latest federal documents, from July to the end of September, Harris' campaign team and the affiliated groups supporting her raised a total of 0.971 billion dollars, even exceeding all funds of Trump's campaign team totaling 0.894 billion dollars since early January 2023.

Since Harris joined the presidential race on July 21st, she has received donations from a total of 4.9 million donors, while her Republican opponent had only about one-third of her donors, approximately 1.37 million, during the same period.

Currently, there are only two weeks left until the voting day on November 5th, and both Harris and Trump are traveling across the country, engaging in expensive advertising blitzes in key swing states to attract voters.

The latest polls show that the two candidates are neck and neck in national support and seven key states, making the election very intense.

However, if Super PAC data is included, the fundraising competition between Harris and Trump is much closer. Super PACs can raise unlimited funds from individuals.

From January 2023 to the end of September 2024, the fundraising of President Joe Biden and Harris' campaign team was about 0.686 billion dollars higher than Trump's (1.58 billion dollars and 0.894 billion dollars respectively). If including Super PACs, the groups supporting Biden and Harris are only about 0.37 billion dollars higher than those supporting Trump (1.89 billion dollars and 15.2 billion dollars respectively).

It can be seen that the Super Political Action Committee raised nearly half of the funds for Trump. Four billionaire donors endorsed Trump, including Timothy Mellon of the Mellon family, Las Vegas tycoon Miriam Adelson, Elon Musk, and shipping tycoon Richard Uline, who collectively donated 0.395 billion USD to four Super PACs supporting Trump.

In comparison, the Democratic candidate received more funds from small donors, while Trump's campaign funds rely more on billionaire support.

As of the end of September, Harris and Biden have accumulated a total of 5.7 million donors, exceeding all of Biden's donors during the 2020 campaign cycle.

Of course, Harris also received support from some billionaires. In the third quarter, the Super PAC Future Forward supporting Harris received 5 million USD from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and 10 million USD from Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, who had previously donated 3 million USD.
