According to reports from three informed sources, French oil giant TotalEnergies (TTE.US) plans major renovations for its largest refinery in Europe in the second half of 2025.
One informant indicated that maintenance at the Antwerp plant will last from September to December, involving a crude oil processing unit. Another informant mentioned that this maintenance will also include repairs to one of the major gasoline production units delayed this year, as well as furnaces.
TotalEnergies refinery is Antwerp's largest refinery, located in the heart of Europe's oil trading center. It is also the company's largest petroleum refining facility in Europe, processing about 0.34 million barrels of crude oil per day.
The refinery has two gasoline units known as fluid catalytic crackers. One informant stated that the larger unit will have a new reactor installed during the shutdown in 2025.
TotalEnergies' Antwerp plant is one of the four major facilities in Europe's oil trade center.
