Trump said in the PBD Podcast: "I believe that if Cook did not manage Apple, but Jobs did, Apple would not be as successful as it is now. I think this because Cook has done an outstanding job. Of course, I am not criticizing Jobs. But if he managed, Apple's situation today would be different."
As a Republican presidential candidate, Trump's remarks also seem to highlight the close relationship Cook established with Trump during his tenure. According to Trump, during his presidency, Cook frequently called him to discuss business matters.
