The Good Design Award evaluates and awards designs that lead to problem solving and the discovery of new themes, regardless of tangible or intangible products, architecture, software, systems, and services. Terumo first won the award in 1989 with the artificial lung "Capiox E CX-E30" and has been winning consecutively for 29 years since 1996.

Terumo will continue to pursue contributions to the evolution of healthcare and the improvement of patients' quality of life, delivering valuable products and services that support people's health and lives.

Rigid hysteroscope "OperaScope"

The fully disposable OperaScope package is a groundbreaking design solution that enables hysteroscopic surgery in various outpatient clinics. It opens up the possibility of performing minor lesion removal such as polyps not only in large hospitals with operating rooms but also in clinics patients visit regularly, reducing the treatment burden for many women. With all the necessary equipment such as endoscope light source, video system, and monitor included in the package, and the sterilization process eliminated, it lowers the threshold for implementation and has the potential to expand to many institutions, contributing to addressing the quantity and quality of gynecological care in Japan.

OperaScope

Cell proliferation system "Quantum Flex"

This product is a cell proliferation system designed for developers of cell therapy with huge potential. Unlike traditional cell culture processes, this product automates most processes and features a functionally closed platform, earning high praise. For example, it is expected to be used in research for establishing an automated cultivation process for treating with iPS cells, with further implementation anticipated.
