At the Industrial Standardization Awards in the 6th year of Reiwa conducted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Tanaka Yoshihiro, Deputy Chief of the Direct Current Project Department in the Electrical Utilities Division of our company, received the Director-General's Award for Innovation and Environmental Affairs.
The Industrial Standardization Awards recognize individuals and organizations with outstanding achievements in standardization activities such as the establishment of international standards at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) or the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS).
Over the past 10 years, our company has been involved in the standardization of ultra high pressure direct current power cables, submarine cables, and the establishment of recommended test methods for direct current cable systems in the IEC TC 20/WG 16 (High Voltage Cable Subcommittee) where European parties were leading, as well as participation as the Japanese representative in CIGRE B1 (Insulated Cable Systems Subcommittee of the International Council on Large Electric Systems) for the application of Japanese standards.
