The US stock market closed lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended trading at 42,740.42, down 324.80 points, while the Nasdaq finished at 18,315.59, down 187.10 points. In the New York foreign exchange market on the 15th, the dollar-yen pair fell to 148.94 yen, then rose to 149.54 yen and closed at 149.23 yen. The US October NY Fed Manufacturing Business Conditions Index unexpectedly fell into the negative, leading to dollar selling dominance. Due to the increase in medium to long-term inflation expectations in the September NY Fed survey, the selling pressure on the dollar retreated. The euro-dollar pair initially strengthened to 1.0917 dollars, then fell to 1.0882 dollars before closing at 1.0887 dollars. Anticipating the European Central Bank (ECB) board meeting, euro selling increased amid expectations of additional interest rate cuts.

NY crude oil futures for November declined (NYMEX crude oil November futures closing price: 70.58, down 3.25).
