According to the Wise Finance app, Samsonite (01910) is now down by more than 5%, as of the time of writing, it has dropped by 4.63%, to HKD 18.52 with a turnover of 0.17 billion Hong Kong dollars.
UBS Group issued a research report indicating that Samsonite's third-quarter performance is expected to be weakened by factors such as consumer sentiment, price competition in the Indian market, and slowing growth in Western regions. UBS has lowered the company's revenue forecast from this year to 2026 by 1% to 2%, expecting a more pronounced slowdown in the second half of this year. Moreover, higher-than-expected deleveraging in operations and unfavorable sales mix changes have led the bank to lower profit margin forecasts.
Macquarie previously released a research report stating that third-quarter sales and earnings of Samsonite are expected to be below expectations, with the target price being lowered from HKD 22 to HKD 19.7. The bank expects a 3% year-on-year decline in Samsonite's revenue in the third quarter due to the global consumption trend downturn. They believe that the third-quarter gross margin will be negatively affected by unfavorable regional and product mix, but good cash flow should allow the company to continue to reward shareholders and deleverage.
