JD.com-SW (09618.HK) (JD.US) launched this year's 'Double 11' event starting from 8 p.m. yesterday (14th). Ken Yeung, head of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan business for the group, stated that the sales volume for Double 11 in Hong Kong and Macau since last night has more than tripled compared to the same period last year, with a much larger increase in the third quarter compared to the second quarter. The average order value for Hong Kong users is far higher than the postage-free delivery threshold of 299 RMB.
He pointed out that currently, the sales of all categories of products in Hong Kong include 10 million SKUs, covering electronic products, home appliances, household products, clothing and beauty products, and pet supplies. Popular brands include Midea (00300.HK), Apple (AAPL.US), Xiaomi-W (01810.HK), Lenovo Group (00992.HK), and Huawei, among others. They plan to gradually introduce merchants such as Japan City, TCL, Skyworth (00751.HK), Kadoorie Foods, etc., to jointly develop online and offline retail businesses in the Hong Kong area. Japan City and TCL's JD.com flagship stores in Hong Kong and Macau will open on November 11.
Regarding the payment cooperation with Alibaba-SW (09988.HK) (BABA.US), he revealed that the integration with Alipay will need to be officially announced at the group level, while JD.com's business in Hong Kong and Macau is expected to be able to access AlipayHK by December of this year.
