Regarding the reasons for the performance changes, Soterweit mentioned that during the reporting period, the company experienced a significant increase in sales volume of its new iterative products in the smart security field, leading to a notable increase in sales revenue.

In the smart phone sector, Soterweit mentioned that the company saw a significant increase in shipment volume of high-end 50 million pixel products used in flagship smartphone main, wide-angle, telephoto, and front cameras. This increase is coupled with deeper collaboration with customers, meeting more demands, continuous market share growth, and significant revenue growth in the smart phone sector. This has opened up a second growth curve.

It is understood that in the first half of this year, Soterweit's high-end 50 million pixel products accounted for over 50% of the revenue in the smart phone business segment, driving a year-on-year revenue growth of 295.46% in the first half of the year for the company's smart phone business.

It is worth noting that several major CIS manufacturers in China have many highlights in their performance or new product expansion.

On August 20 this year, the 0.18 billion pixel full-frame CIS product developed by Sitewell successfully entered trial production, marking the expansion of its product line in the professional digital imaging field. According to Sitewell's chairman and general manager Xu Chen, ultra-high pixel, large format high-performance CIS represents a technological high point in image sensor design, an area in which Japanese companies have long held a monopoly.

Geek+'s 50 million pixel image sensor product has started mass production and shipment today (October 13), entering the mid-to-high-end smartphone main camera market at home and abroad, which will have a positive impact on its future development.

Will Semiconductor released a performance forecast for the first three quarters of this month, expecting a year-on-year increase of 515.35% to 569.64% in net profit attributable to the parent company from January to September 2024, reaching 2.267 billion yuan to 2.467 billion yuan. The company stated that with the continuous recovery of market demand and increased downstream customer needs, its product introduction in the high-end smart phone market and the continuous penetration of the automotive market in autonomous driving applications.

In the first half of the year, Will Semiconductor launched the high-end 1.2um 50 million pixel image sensor OV50H, as well as the world's first intelligent smartphone image sensor OV50K40 using TheiaCel technology, setting the benchmark for flagship rear main cameras in the industry. The company also released the latest image sensor OV50M40 in the third quarter.

According to data from Frost & Sullivan, the global CIS sales compound annual growth rate is expected to reach 11.9% from 2021 to 2025, with global sales projected to reach $33 billion by 2025.

Guosen Securities analyst Hu Jian's team's research report indicates that in recent years, Sony and Samsung have shown a trend of slowing down CIS technology development; at the same time, due to the continuous differentiation of imaging technologies among various manufacturers and the differentiated competitive landscape between different product lines, leading domestic CIS companies are expected to accelerate their pace in the new cycle driven by new product launches.
