TDK Corporation (President: Noboru Saito) would like to announce that our Neuromorphic Device utilizing the Spin Memory Sta has won the "Innovation Award" at CEATEC AWARD 2024.
CEATEC AWARD 2024, celebrating its 14th year this year, evaluates and selects exhibits and projects submitted by exhibitors in advance, from among the technologies, products, services, etc., exhibited at CEATEC 2024, with high academic, technical, market, and innovative value, for commendation by the CEATEC AWARD 2024 Panel.
Our Spin Memory Sta, which won the award this time, is a ultra-low power consumption Neuromorphic device utilizing Spintronics technology. We have demonstrated with the cooperation of the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives: CEA) (hereinafter referred to as CEA) that the Spin Memory Sta functions as a basic element of Neuromorphic devices, and in the future, we will collaborate with the International Research and Development Center for Integrated Electronics at Tohoku University (hereinafter referred to as Tohoku University) towards practical application.
In this award, the expectation and market development potential for future technological advancements, such as achieving high energy efficiency through low power consumption, high-speed operation, utilization of AI in edge environments for learning, were highly evaluated.
Our company aims to contribute to the transformation of society by promoting the long-term vision of "TDK Transformation." In the future, we will accelerate the evolution of technology and social change by developing neuromorphic devices that can reduce AI power consumption to 1/100 through international collaboration in academia, industry, and government with CEA and Tohoku University, contributing to the realization of a sustainable future.
