Daikin Industries, Ltd. unsponsored ADR has been awarded the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" at the Reiwa 6 Industrial Standardization Project Awards hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. This award recognizes the efforts in standardization related to the performance evaluation of the waterless humidity control outdoor air processing device "DESICA" through the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), which not only improves the product reliability but also promotes the spread of the Building Energy Conservation Law, contributing to the market expansion of highly efficient air conditioning equipment.
そのほか、２件を同時受賞しています。電力需要が増大する一方で、ルームエアコンの省エネ規制の整備が必要であったブラジルにおけるルール形成活動に携わった功績が評価され東京支社渉外室 兼CSR・地球環境センター担当部長・小山師真が「経済産業大臣表彰」を、国際標準化機構（ISO）の国際幹事活動を通じて、国益を損なわない空調機の性能評価・規格作りへの寄与が評価されCSR・地球環境センター・上野絵理が「イノベーション・環境局長表彰」を、それぞれ個人として受賞しました。
産業標準化事業表彰は、国際規格やJIS等の作成、普及・促進、標準化を活用した市場創出や社会課題の解決等に功績のあった個人及び組織、並びにこれらの活動において今後の更なる活躍が期待される個人を表彰する制度です。
ダイキンはグローバルに空調事業を展開する企業として、世界各国で環境性能の高い空調機の普及に取り組んでいます。こうした製品の性能が正しく、公平に評価されるためには、国内外で製品規格や省エネ基準の規制などの標準化が重要です。そのためダイキンは、戦略経営計画FUSION25の重点戦略テーマに「市場価値形成・アドボカシー活動の強化」を掲げ、従来から国内外の標準化活動において、必要な人材や情報を提供し、議論に積極的に参画してきました。今回の受賞は、こうしたグローバルでの活動の一端を評価いただいたものと認識しています。
ダイキンは、今後も空調機の電力消費量削減や地球温暖化抑制につながる標準化などの国際的なルール形成活動に参画し、社会課題の解決に取り組んでいきます。

| Reasons for the award | In Brazil, while the demand for electrical utilities was increasing, the situation where energy-saving regulations for room air conditioners were not yet established had continued. Therefore, I have been working as a leader of a project aimed at 1. Introducing the energy-saving performance evaluation ISO standard and 2. Setting energy-saving standards exceeding those of major ASEAN countries in Brazil's energy-saving regulations. In 2018, we won the JICA Private Technology Dissemination Project and collaborated with local universities and NGOs under the support of the Japanese government, resulting in the announcement of new energy-saving regulations in July 2020. As a result, our contribution to the spread of highly energy-efficient room air conditioners in Brazil was recognized. |

| Reasons for the award | Amid the increasing emphasis on energy efficiency towards decarbonization, there is a growing demand to revamp the performance evaluation of air conditioners. Recognized for contributions as an international secretary within the ISO committee, engaging stakeholders from Japan, the United States, Europe, and India to establish new evaluation methods as ISO standards. In 2023, established a new Working Group to discuss the necessary elements for evaluation, fostering fair discussions without compromising national interests in advancing standardization. |
