As part of a government investigation, the FBI in the usa created a fake cryptos and company, leading to charges of fraud against 18 companies and individuals. In charges announced on Wednesday in Boston, three cryptos trading companies and their employees were accused of wash trading and conspiring to manipulate the price of NexFundAI; NexFundAI is a crypto token created by the FBI investigating market manipulation in the cryptos industry. The fourth company and its employees were also charged for implementing a similar scheme. Jodi Cohen, head of the FBI Boston division, special agent, stated that the operation named 'Operation Token Mirrors' targeted malicious token developers, promoters, and market makers in the cryptos sector.
