Timmy <215A> announced on the 7th that, in collaboration with Logistics, they have started the 'Forklift Driving Skills Improvement Training' for Timmy workers.
In the logistics industry, the improvement of working conditions and securing of human resources are considered urgent challenges. Timmy has been addressing these issues by posting job openings for light work in logistics warehouses and working on improving working environment through job segmentation. Furthermore, in order to obtain specialized skills and qualifications and alleviate the shortage of personnel, they have been providing support for forklift driving skill certification since June 2023. By July of this year, approximately 200 workers have obtained forklift driving skill certification.
However, in actual job postings related to forklifts, practical experience is often required. There has been a challenge of 'getting the certification but not getting the opportunity to work'.
The 'same training' will be conducted at the Logistics Minamifunabashi Warehouse for 5 days. Under the guidance of experienced forklift drivers, participants will gain hands-on experience in forklift operation. In addition to practical training, they will provide Logistics-supervised texts and explanatory videos for previewing and reviewing through practical and classroom training, aiming to improve forklift skills. Furthermore, upon completion of the training, Timmy will introduce forklift job openings from Logistics to the trainees, allowing them to engage in spot work using their honed skills.
By adding skills improvement training to support for forklift driving certification, a system that can support the entire process from certification to skill improvement is established. This expansion of opportunities for spot workers to gain practical experience and work using their certification is expected to contribute further to solving the serious challenges of human resources securing and development faced by the logistics industry.
