Cintas teamed up with the Cincinnati Bengals, American Heart Association, and Kettering Health to provide CPR and AED training to the Cincinnati community at the second annual 'Save the Dey' event at Paycor Stadium.
With over 350,000 sudden cardiac arrests happening each year, teaching people immediate CPR and how to use an AED are crucial to improving someone's survival in a cardiac emergency.
"We are thrilled to have this event because it is an opportunity for us to give back to the community and help provide lifesaving skills and the confidence to help someone in the event that they have to do so," said Todd Schneider, President and CEO of Cintas. "This year we saw more participants and had Ted Karras from the Cincinnati Bengals join us in helping kick off the event."
Cintas had 44 First Aid & Safety partners volunteer to lead the training, assisting 650 participants in learning hands-only CPR and the proper use of an AED.
"It's great that Cintas helps host this important event," said Ted Karras, captain and center for the Cincinnati Bengals. "As we have seen on this very field, CPR helped save someone's life. I think it's special that we are here learning how to save someone's life. We're training heroes out here."
Cintas provides CPR and AED training to over 100,000 businesses and organizations across the United States, which has helped save the lives of many individuals.
"Each week, I get a story of how we helped save a life, and we save over a life a week," said Mark Carter, President and COO – First Aid & Safety at Cintas. "It's incredible what we do, and it truly matters. It helps the community because you never know when it could happen and when you may need to save a life."
