1. Fujian Foxit Software Development Joint Stock will continue to plan more AI assistant functions; 2. As of now, the new products released by the company have not yet achieved significant revenue. Its chairman admitted that the company is reevaluating the commercial prospects of new products, some may be optimized and merged before commercialization, while others may introduce third-party collaborations.
On October 8, 《Star Daily》 (Reporter: Qiu Siyu) reported that today (October 8), Fujian Foxit Software held the 2024 interim earnings conference.
At the earnings conference, the overseas market situation of Fujian Foxit Software became the focus of investors. Chairman and CEO of Fujian Foxit Software, Xiong Yuqian, told 《Star Daily》 at the earnings conference, "The main source of income for the company is the overseas market, mainly in Europe and America. In the past two years, the revenue from Europe and America has been stable at around 80% of the company's total revenue."
In recent years, Fujian Foxit Software has increased its presence in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East. "Through branding in these regional markets, increased resource investments, and collaboration with core channel partners, we have expanded our market reach," further added Xiong Yuqian.
According to the financial report, in the first half of this year, the company's revenue share in the North American market was 55%, with a year-on-year growth of 12.28%; revenue share in the European market was 25%, with a year-on-year growth of 28.08%; revenue share in the Asia-Pacific market was 7%, with a year-on-year growth of 36.21%.
Compared to the North American market, Fujian Foxit Software's revenue growth in the European market is faster. The company explains this is mainly due to the channel transformation showing significant results. The European market ecosystem is mainly channel-based, and it has established an organizational form that integrates channel, sales, and pre-sales systems in Europe. The North American market, due to its larger size and higher revenue base, combined with the transition to subscriptions, has experienced relatively slower revenue growth.
It is worth noting that Fujian Foxit Software released a separate pricing plan for the overseas PDF editor AI assistant function at the end of September this year, specifically priced at $4.99 per month and $49.99 per year.
Regarding this, Chairman and CEO of Fujian Foxit Software, Xiong Yuqian, stated at the earnings conference that the company is enhancing the AI capabilities of the PDF editor. Building upon traditional document summarization, content rewriting, and text translation achievable by large models, they are further integrating layout document recognition capability to enhance the accuracy and user experience of AI interactions with PDF document content, achieving more and more PDF functional operations based on AI commands.
It is reported that in addition to traditional large-scale AI capabilities and page document recognition capabilities, the company has also added new features such as version translation. Xiong Yuqian stated, "The company will continue to plan more AI assistant functions."
In terms of business model, the transformation to subscription model by Fujian Foxit Software is still in progress. In the first half of the year, the company's subscription revenue accounted for approximately 46%, channel revenue accounted for approximately 39%, and the accumulated subscription ARR reached approximately 0.325 billion yuan.
However, as of now, the new products released by the company have not yet generated significant revenue. Regarding this, Xiong Yuqian frankly stated at the earnings conference, "The company is reassessing the commercial prospects of new products. Some may be optimized or merged to reduce costs; some may consider introducing third-party collaborations for better development."
