2. History
Fultec <6546> was founded in 1963 as Hokkaido Teraoka Auto Door Co., Ltd. It started as the sales agent for Teraoka Auto Door, an automatic door manufacturer, in the Hokkaido region. In 1970, it opened a Sendai branch and expanded to the Tohoku region. The company name was also changed to Tohoku Teraoka Auto Door Co., Ltd. In the following year, branches were successively opened in Kushiro, Akita, Asahikawa, Aomori, and Utsunomiya. In 1976, Teraoka Auto Door Iwate Co., Ltd. was established in Iwate Prefecture. In 1981, it invested in Kyoritsu Auto Door Co., Ltd. In 1996, it acquired Joto Teraoka Auto Door Co., Ltd. and expanded its business to Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Gunma. Joto Teraoka Auto Door was dissolved in 1999, and Kyoritsu Auto Door was absorbed and merged in 2001, with the company taking over their management. In 2001, the company name was changed to Teraoka Facilities Co., Ltd., but in 2015, it was changed to the current Fultec Co., Ltd. In 2016, it absorbed and merged a subsidiary established in Iwate into the current company. In 2017, it listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange market, and in 2018, it was transferred to the First Section. In April 2022, it was moved to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard market, and in July of the same year, it listed on the Sapporo Stock Exchange main market.
In 2021, a Fukuoka branch was opened to enter Kyushu. Although it started with 6 people initially, it has steadily increased orders and currently has a team of 12. Regarding expansion into the Chubu and Western Japan regions, the company has decided to reserve judgment as it is difficult to establish a sufficient sales and maintenance system to respond to vast markets with still low awareness, considering the company's current management resources and costs.
Regarding the production of stainless steel building hardware, East Japan Metal Co., Ltd. was established in 1982 to enter the business in the Tohoku region. In 1991, an Artex Co., Ltd. factory for building hardware manufacturing was established in Sapporo. In 1996, East Japan Metal was liquidated, and a new company called Artex Tohoku Co., Ltd. was established to launch a new stainless steel building hardware manufacturing plant. In 2003, the factory in Morioka was relocated and rebuilt, renaming it to Artex Co., Ltd. similar to the Sapporo factory. In 2016, the Sapporo factory absorbed and merged the Morioka factory, integrating the subsidiaries.
In 1994, it started the sales, installation, and maintenance business of the smoke control system 'Turnex' as a sales agent of Turnex Co., Ltd. In 2009, it established a bicycle parking system business division. In addition, in 2024, it connected Wise Corporation, which plans, develops, and manufactures security control systems such as security boxes and security-related systems, through M&A as a consolidated subsidiary. The company plans to internalize the development of automatic door products and expand the sales of security systems and delivery boxes to end users of the company who are considering or have installed them.
