NEW.

LIXIL Corporation (hereinafter referred to as LIXIL) has added high-performance specifications to the aluminum sash for medium and high-rise buildings, "PRESEA-S", which exceed the highest grade of JIS standards and enable a combination of superior wind pressure resistance, water tightness, and high insulation. It has been launched nationwide starting from October 2024.

In the high-performance specification of "PRESEA-S", it has the highest domestic level of wind pressure resistance performance of 4500Pa and water tightness of 1500Pa (in the case of fixed windows). In addition, the aluminum sash has the industry's widest glass groove width of 46mm (in the case of sliding windows and single-hung windows)*. By expanding the glass groove width, it is now possible to install thick glass with high strength properties and high sound insulation, while maintaining insulation capabilities by ensuring a wider hollow layer in the glass.
With the addition of high-performance specifications to the slim and stylish design of "PRESEA-S", it is now possible to adapt to skyscrapers and be utilized in buildings that require high wind pressure resistance performance due to factors such as typhoons and heavy rain.
LIXIL will continue to contribute to realizing rich and comfortable living for everyone through a variety of products and services.
* Based on in-house research of comparison with standard products listed in the catalog of domestic window manufacturers' building sashes (as of August 2024).

■ Features of the high-performance specification of "PRESEA-S"
1. Ensuring wind pressure resistance performance and water tightness that exceed the highest grade of JIS standards. Wind pressure resistance performance achieves 4500Pa, surpassing the highest grade of JIS standard S-7 (3600Pa), ensuring strength that can cover to high floors. Water tightness achieves 1000Pa and 1500Pa (in the case of fixed windows), surpassing significantly the highest grade of JIS standard W-5 (500Pa), effectively preventing rainwater infiltration. It can be utilized not only in skyscrapers but also in buildings in areas where the impact of typhoons and heavy rain is a concern.
LIXIL will continue to contribute to making everyone's desired rich and comfortable living a reality through a variety of products and services.

2. By expanding the width of the glass groove, it achieves both strength, sound insulation, and thermal insulation.
In order to ensure wind pressure resistance and high sound insulation, it is necessary to increase the width of the glass. Therefore, to fit the conventional glass groove width (36mm), the glass's hollow layer had to be narrowed, sacrificing thermal insulation. By increasing the glass groove width by 10mm to 46mm this time, we have made it possible to accommodate glass up to a total thickness of 36mm. This allows for a wider hollow layer of glass than before, enabling the installation of thick glass with high strength and thick glass with high sound insulation while maintaining thermal insulation.

3. Achieving both beautiful design and high performance
The frame (in the case of a 36mm wide glass groove sliding window) has been slimmed by approximately 30% compared to the conventional product (PRO-SE), expanding the glass area and improving daylighting and views.
In addition, by making the tip of the summoner town 5mm smaller and gently thinner, it highlights a slimmer appearance. By achieving performance enhancement while maintaining the design of the existing 36mm glass groove, it is now possible to use "PREASEA-S" selectively according to the necessary strength from mid to high-rise floors to super high-rise floors, allowing for a unified design appearance (in the case of sliding windows and casement windows).
* In the case of a 46mm wide glass groove sliding window, it is slimmed by about 24%.
