The yield on US Treasury bonds has risen, with the 10-year bond yield surpassing 4.02% for the first time since August this year, bringing pressure to the US stock market, causing a decline in the three major indices on Monday. The Dow fell 398 points or 0.9% throughout the day, closing at 41,954 points; the S&P 500 index dropped 55 points or 1%, closing at 5,695, while the Nasdaq fell 213 points or 1.2%, closing at 17,923.

Oil prices have risen, with US crude oil prices up over 3%, Brent oil trading above $80 per barrel. Energy stocks rose by around 0.4%, being the only sector in the S&P 500 index to record an increase at the market close.

Apple (AAPL.US) and Amazon (AMZN.US) both received downgrade ratings from investment banks. Apple was downgraded to 'hold' by Furui, citing weaker than expected actual demand for the iPhone 16, leading to a 2.3% decline in the stock price; Amazon was downgraded to 'market perform' by Wells Fargo & Co, pointing out its slowing growth and competition from Walmart (WMT.US) and others, resulting in a 3% drop in the stock price.

Nvidia (NVDA.US) rose against the market, up over 2%. Tesla (TSLA.US) declined by nearly 4%.
