Bridgestone Corporation Unsponsored ADR (hereinafter referred to as "Bridgestone") and its domestic group company Bridgestone Cycle Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "BSC") will support the "MyNavi Tour de Kyushu 2024" UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) official cycle road race to be held in Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Oita prefectures from October 11 to 14, 2024. Bridgestone has been sponsoring this event as a gold partner since 2023 (1st event) in line with the event's theme "Make Kyushu Sustainable". This event, a cycle road race that aims to communicate the unique nature and culture of Kyushu to domestic and international audiences, is being held to promote regional revitalization and build a sustainable future. The Bridgestone Group's business bases in Kyushu, centered around the founding location in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, are working together with local authorities to support event operations, demonstrating their determination and commitment not only to contribute to the promotion and expansion of cycling sports and a safe cycling society in Kyushu, but also to support the region's sustainable future together.
In the "Tour de Kyushu 2024," BSC Team Bridgestone Cycling, which monopolized the podium in the men's Madison event at the 2024 All Japan Track Championships, will be represented by riders Hidetomo Hashimoto, Tetsuo Yamamoto, Katsuya Okamoto, and Toranosuke Yamashita, adding excitement to the event.
Additionally, prior to the event, BSC held a lecture and bicycle safety workshop by player Yoshiko Sugiura, who is supported by BSC with competition equipment, with the aim of supporting the rich learning and growth of children who will shape Kyushu's future. Visiting elementary and high school cycling teams, they provide a stimulating mobility experience with peace of mind and safety to the children of Kyushu.
