T. Rowe Price Group Insiders Sell US$6.8m Of Stock, Possibly Signalling Caution

Simply Wall St ·  Oct 5 20:06

Many T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:TROW) insiders ditched their stock over the past year, which may be of interest to the company's shareholders. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, shareholders should take a deeper look if several insiders are selling stock over a specific time period.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

T. Rowe Price Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The insider, Robert Higginbotham, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$3.9m worth of shares at a price of US$110 each. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$108. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).

T. Rowe Price Group insiders didn't buy any shares over the last year. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below.
