日経平均寄与度ランキング(大引け)~日経平均は続伸、ファーストリテやアドバンテストが2銘柄で約92円分押し上げ

Nikkei Average Contribution Ranking (Closing) ~ Nikkei Average continues to rise, with Fast Retailing and Advantest pushing up about 92 yen with 2 stocks.

Fisco Japan ·  Oct 4 15:08

At the close on the 4th, the number of rising stocks in the Nikkei average constituent stocks was 156, with 68 falling and 1 unchanged.

On the 3rd, the Dow Jones closed at 42,011.59, down 184.93 points, while the Nasdaq closed at 17,918.48, down 6.64 points in the US market. Concerns over the heightened Middle East situation weighed on market sentiment. However, with the ISM non-manufacturing business activity index rising more than expected, the economic outlook improved temporarily, causing a recovery into positive territory. Nonetheless, President Biden's comments hinting at the possibility of Iran retaliation against Israel with an attack on oil facilities raised concerns, leading to selling amid higher crude oil prices and geopolitical risks. The Nasdaq was supported by the rise of semiconductor company Nvidia but ended sluggishly due to profit-taking sales ahead of employment statistics announcement.

Amid a declining U.S. stock market, buying predominated in today's Tokyo stock market. Although the major indices fell in the U.S. market yesterday, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, consisting of major semiconductor-related stocks, continued to rise, providing support for semiconductor-related stocks in Tokyo. The stability of the yen in the foreign exchange market provided reassurance. However, concerns about geopolitical risks in the Middle East persist, coupled with the upcoming release of the U.S. employment statistics for September tonight, contributing to a cautious buying stance and limiting the upward momentum.

The Nikkei average at the closing was 38,635.62, up 83.56 yen (+0.22%) from the previous day. The trading volume on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market was 1.827 billion shares, with a trading value of 3.88 trillion yen. Among the global sectors, mining, petroleum and coal products, electric and gas industries, banking, pulp and paper sectors rose, while only marine transportation, transportation equipment, and electric appliances sectors declined. In the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, 69% of stocks rose, while 27% fell.
