According to the Wise Finance APP, General Motors (GM.US) delivered 659,601 vehicles in the third quarter of the USA, a decrease of 2.2%. The sales of electric vehicles reached 32,195 units, hitting a new high, with a 60% year-on-year growth, a 46% increase from the second quarter. Therefore, General Motors' share in the US electric vehicle market increased from 7.1% in the second quarter to 9.5%.
In terms of brands, electric vehicle sales were driven by strong demand for Chevrolet Blazer and Equinox in the market, with Blazer sales growing by 21%, while Equinox electric vehicles sold 9,700 units in the first full quarter since its launch. Chevrolet will also launch a more affordable Silverado EV LT model in the fourth quarter.
In the third quarter of this year, Cadillac's sales increased by 5%, marking its best third quarter performance since 2016. Buick's sales increased by 8%, the best quarter performance since 2021, and GMC saw a 6% increase in sales.
General Motors' stock price has risen nearly 26% year to date.
