The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce of China responded to Canada's implementation of tariffs on electric automobiles and the release of the final product list for tariffs on mainland steel and aluminum products, stating that China has noted Canada's publication of relevant documents. China has filed a lawsuit against Canada's unilateralism and trade protectionism at the World Trade Organization, and has initiated an anti-discrimination investigation into Canada's related restrictive measures in accordance with the law. China believes Canada should rationally and objectively view bilateral economic and trade cooperation, respect facts, abide by WTO rules, and not continue down the wrong path. China will take all necessary measures to firmly defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.

In the past period of time, Canada has repeatedly ignored objective facts, disregarded international economic and trade rules, and despite opposition and dissuasion from multiple parties, insisted on unilaterally pressuring China in line with certain countries. Canada's actions violate market economy and fair competition principles, seriously harming the normal economic and trade cooperation between Chinese and Canadian companies, severely impacting Sino-Canadian economic and trade relations, disrupting and distorting global industry chains and supply chains, to which China strongly opposes.
