Toyota Motor North America stated on Tuesday that before the strike at US ports began, the company had already built up additional inventory of vehicles and auto parts in response. At the same time, the company has developed plans to change ports and locations.
Toyota relies on ports along the east coast of the USA and the Gulf of Mexico to import all products from auto parts to complete automobiles, and the company says it is closely monitoring developments.
In addition, the company pointed out that new car sales in the US fell by about 8% to 0.5429 million vehicles in the third quarter.
