Donations to Nakanoto Town can be made here.

Nakanoto Town is located in the middle of the Noto Peninsula, with Ishizuchiyama to the east and Mt. Marujiyama to the west. It is a town surrounded by local nature such as a scenic countryside area of Japan with greenery, hilly terrain, and lush rivers, rich in history and culture.

Due to the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1st of Reiwa 6, many people were affected in Nakanoto Town as well. Recovery and reconstruction efforts, including support for disaster victims and restoration of lifelines, are still underway. The donations received will be used for various projects, including disaster recovery and reconstruction projects. We sincerely look forward to your support.

"Mercari Donate" takes advantage of the characteristics of "Mercari", used by approximately 23 million people every month. Even those who have been distant from donations so far can easily donate via their smartphones at home. It is a mechanism where those who are concerned about social issues can donate immediately, even without cash on hand, by selling items they no longer need or have finished using, creating a new system of "selling items to donate".

Please consider delivering the sales proceeds from selling items on "Mercari" or the "Merpay balance" charged from the bank to the disaster areas.

Please use the "Mercari Donate" service from the following.

For detailed usage instructions when donating through the app, please also refer to the following page.

We are pleased to announce the launch of this project with the support of Mercari Co., Ltd. and express our gratitude to all involved parties.

In the town, there were costs incurred for the disposal of unnecessary items no longer needed at schools. In seeking a good method, it was discovered that the largest flea market app service in Japan, called 'Mercari,' could be utilized, allowing local governments to directly sell items.

It is considered a very effective business that promotes reuse and uses the sales proceeds to purchase necessary equipment for educational activities, thus compressing self-financing.

Furthermore, it is considered a project that promotes environmental education for children, contributes to initiatives related to SDGs, and leads to waste reduction in environmental issues.

As we approach the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, countries around the world are setting goals to reduce CO2 emissions. Efforts are being made to raise awareness among individuals to approach these goals. Hopefully, this project will serve as an opportunity to collectively contemplate the issue of global warming.

Additionally, a 'Mercari Donation' has been set up to accept donations. We would be grateful to receive support from many users for disaster relief for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and general donations.

We would like to effectively utilize education, as well as a funding source to enhance the environment for raising children.

Finally, we hope to promote eco-friendly initiatives towards a decarbonized society in our town. We offer our greetings, hoping that this project will contribute to achieving zero carbon.

Mercari is also working on initiatives to collaborate with local governments in various ways, such as sales at Mercari Shops and Mercari Donations, aside from Mercari Donations.

Mercari will promote initiatives to contribute to the realization of a circular economy and the resolution of social issues by reducing waste through collaboration with each local government.
