Introducing "bathtope" with a removable cloth bathtub, creating the next 100 years.
First unveiled at DESIGNART TOKYO 2024 from October 18th.
LIXIL Co., Ltd., celebrating the 100th anniversary of its domestic water and tile business, will launch a new concept bathroom space 'bathtope' on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 as the first step in creating the next 100 years. Prior to the release, they will exhibit at 'DESIGNART TOKYO 2024' held from Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 27 as a platform to showcase to everyone.
Bathtope is a bathroom space equipped with a removable bathtub that can be folded compactly for storage, where one can bathe in a fabric bath filled with water and then fold it for storage after use. In recent years, as lifestyles have diversified, there is no longer a specific rule for bathing styles. Environmental consciousness and the emphasis on well-being have been increasing among people. LIXIL has been providing advanced ideas and technologies reflecting the times for years. Responding to changes in lifestyle and awareness, they have pursued an ideal bathroom that can effectively utilize limited living spaces while balancing the richness of the earth and people, leading to the development of bathtope that offers a compact and flexible bathroom space. It is a new category of bathroom that can be freely switched between a shower room and a bathroom, creating a space that will change bathing habits in the future.
In the future, LIXIL will continue to shape new technologies and innovative ideas such as bathtope, and propose high-value products and services that contribute to the realization of comfortable living.
■ Overview of the bathtope product
Bathtope is a bathroom space equipped with a removable bathtub that can be folded compactly for storage, where one can bathe in a fabric bath filled with water and then fold it for storage after use. Unlike conventional fixed bathtubs that can feel cramped, with fabric bath, you can detach and attach the bathtub according to the time, season, and mood, allowing you to switch between a spacious bathtub and a spacious shower room.
Distinct from traditional FRP bathtubs, it offers a light material feel unique to fabric bath, sophisticated design, and a comforting experience, providing a new sensation of relaxation space.
