Chinese concept stocks showed more significant gains, with mainland electric vehicle manufacturer Nio Inc (NIO.US) announcing a capital injection of 13.3 billion renminbi for its China operations, with strategic investors injecting 3.3 billion renminbi, and the remaining funds coming from Nio Inc, resulting in a surge of over 18% in its US stock.
Alibaba (BABA.US) saw its stock price rise by about 3% after the People's Bank of China announced a requirement for banks to lower existing home mortgage rates by the end of next month.
Automaker Stellantis (STLA.US) pointed out the continuously deteriorating global industry outlook, lowering its full-year profit forecast, causing its stock price to plummet by 13% in the early session. Ford (F.US) and General Motors (GM.US) each fell by over 2%.
