Gifti <4449> plans, develops, and operates various e-gift services targeting individuals, corporations, and local governments.
Four services are offered under the "e-Gift Platform Business". The flagship service, giftee for Business, which accounted for 65.8% of the revenue in the first half of the fiscal year ending December 2024, is used by corporations to grant gifts to users in campaigns, etc. instead of using traditional means such as mailing for gifts like convenience store items or coffee, gifts can now be easily sent via LINE or email. It enables significant cost reduction in sales promotion and can increase motivation for participation through incremental promotions. Many corporations, especially large enterprises, have adopted it, with the number of companies using e-gifts (DP) reaching 1,035 in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2024.
Additionally, the eGift System service, accounting for 9.8%, is a system that allows corporations to generate, distribute, sell, process payments, and manage the performance of e-gifts. The regional currency service, representing 3.0%, provides various digitalization solutions to local governments, such as electronic conversion of tourist currencies, e-gift conversion of hometown tax payments. The giftee service, which accounts for 1.5%, is for individual users, and as of the end of December 2023, the number of members has reached 2.14 million. Subsidiaries include companies selling experience gifts in their own EC sites, other EC sites, retail stores, as well as companies operating custom apparel services and craft beer sales PF.
The cumulative revenue for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 2024 was 44.6 billion yen (an increase of 24.4% compared to the same period last year), with operating profit landing at 9.28 billion yen (a decrease of 8.1% compared to last year). Although a large profit related to national travel support was recorded in the first quarter of the previous year, leading to a decrease compared to the same period last year, excluding that impact, the company has achieved high growth. Due to continued high demand for e-gifts in the main giftee for Business service, the circulation amount in the 2Q of 26.1 billion yen (26% increase) exceeded the same period last year. It seems that there is a continual high demand from corporations, including large-scale projects, maintaining high levels in the second quarter, which tend to weaken seasonally in terms of DP and project numbers. Additionally, in the eGift System service, the number of e-gift issuing companies (CP) increased steadily by 34 companies to 330 companies compared to the same period last year. For the full year, revenue is expected to be 91.09 billion yen (a 26.0% increase from the previous year), with operating profit expected to be 17.02 billion yen (a 34.3% increase).
As part of future growth strategies, the company aims to expand the e-gift platform by increasing the number of attractive contents (CP numbers, industry/categories) and expanding the number of e-gift using companies (DP), circulation amounts, etc. Geographical expansion includes advancing into the ASEAN and MENA regions, with operations already commenced in less competitive markets like Malaysia and Indonesia. In ASEAN, which has many supply-centric CPs, efforts are being made to introduce prominent CPs to the eGift System and expand the number of DP and circulation amounts. In the MENA region, the decision has been made to acquire YouGotaGift.com Ltd., a subsidiary that operates the e-gift platform business. The main target in the gift market is 6 trillion yen in the domestic casual gift sector (5 trillion yen for personal gifts, 1 trillion yen for corporate gifts, particularly focused on the more demanding 1 trillion yen corporate gifts), aiming to improve performance through market share expansion in a less competitive environment. Overall, attention should be paid to the future trends of the company, which continues to achieve double-digit growth in performance.
