According to media reports, Osaka Metro has announced that it will launch the QR code payment function on some ticket vending machines at seven stations, including the Yutang Jin Line (Mei Tian Station), starting from March 8, 2020. it is worth mentioning that the QR code supports domestic Alipay and WeChat Pay.
The seven stations are Shinosaka Station, Meida Station, Dongmeida Station, Shinzaibashi Station, Nippon Bridge Station, Nobo Station and Tianwang Temple Station. A total of 103 ticket vending machines support QR code payment. At that time, passengers can go to the blue ticket vending machine at the station and use Alipay or Wechat Pay to purchase subway one-way tickets. In addition, the purchase of magnetic cards such as return cards and one-day tickets and the recharge business of ICOCA cards are not within the scope of support of this Alipay or Wechat Pay.
