Secretary-General Cui Dongshu of the China Passenger Vehicle Market Information Union stated at the "World New Energy Automobile Conference" that the retail sales volume of automobiles in Mainland China is expected to reach 22.3 million vehicles by 2024, with a 3% year-on-year growth. It is estimated that the retail sales volume of new energy passenger vehicles in Mainland China will reach 10.4 million vehicles, with a 34% year-on-year growth. At the end of last year, the China Passenger Car Association estimated that the retail sales volume of passenger vehicles in Mainland China by 2024 would be 22.2 million vehicles.
In addition, Cui Dongshu mentioned that China plays an important role in the global new energy automobile development which is undergoing rapid changes, believing that China's automobile industry will not be "blocked". He mentioned that China has a super strong consumer electronics foundation in the supply chain and believes that Europe and America cannot restrain China. Fundamentally, China has a super strong global competitiveness.
When referring to the recent European Union anti-subsidy investigation on electric vehicles in China, Cui Dongshu stated that the Chinese automobile industry will definitely grow more determined with obstacles and the future development space will be even greater.
